Our 10% promise
A minimum of 10% of our profits will be given to charitable causes. It is our belief that money should be used to benefit others and our support will be for children to seek to improve their lives. The causes we support will be 1 x local, 1 x national, 1 x international. All will have a bias towards children.
The causes we are currently supporting are:
International
Ian and Simea Meldrum work with the children living on the streets of Olinda (N.E. Brazil). They run a farm where street children can live safely, have health care, learn skills and be educated at a local school. Many of these children have no-one else to care for them or be interested in them. Ian and Simea bring hope where there is little hope for some of the most vulnerable children in the world.
National
DEBRA is a charity supporting people with the genetic skin disorder epidermolysis bullosa. Imagine being a parent who cannot hug their child. Children with EB blister at the slightest touch - even a hug or a kiss. One hour.s research into EB costs £25, so every £25 brings a cure one hour closer. Most EB sufferers are children as the disease gives a short life expectancy. For details of DEBRA see www.debra.org.uk
Local
Ideal Present is based just outside Egham, Surrey, UK. St John's Egham has the largest and most diverse children's work in the area - ranging from a mothers & toddlers group and pre-school nursery to teenagers groups. St John's incorporates football teams, a craft club and more conventional youth clubs. A new centre is proposed to facilitate youth and children's work which involves over 200 children.
